“When we met Moshe for the first time, he said that he liked to see all his students through the actual bar mitzvah itself. Although we did consider bringing him over to Jerusalem where we had the bar mitzvah at the Kotel, that option was a bit expensive. But he did take our son on a personal quest that included much more than Hebrew itself, including hosting him for a couple shabbats at his home, and I highly recommend Moshe to anyone with a son or daughter preparing for bar/bat mitzvah. And I should add anywhere, as the Skype/Facetime meeting is quite brilliant and in some ways the future of personalized education.”

A good example for this was the news about the “40 beheaded Israeli babies” , that went viral. False claims about beheaded babies, amplified by social media, led millions to dehumanize Palestinians and see them as monsters, despite numerous audits and official statements debunking these claims. On the other hand, the same social media portals that made this story sound and look real , undermined the vicious reality of the videos that captured the ongoing Israeli genocide in gaza. Kids slaughtered, refugees tents burning, and hospitals bombed, all captured on videos and verified by UN organizations like the ICJ, unicef, and Drs without borders, yet, there’s no global agreement on the crimes of the Israeli state. 𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 🤷♂️ The amplification of these views wasn't based on their reality, but rather on how sensational or divisive they were, demonstrating how popularity can overshadow truth. These incidents shows how social media platforms can turn any accusation into mainstream truths, and algorithms feed users more of what they already believe, further spreading misinformation. Then there's AI, which has added another layer of complexity. Deepfake technology allowed for the creation of videos where individuals appear to say or do things they never did. A notable example is the manipulated video of Nancy Pelosi that circulated in 2019, making her seem drunk or impaired, Or the "Pope in a puffer jacket" image, created by AI, and fooled many because it looked convincingly real. The way AI can manipulate audio and visual truth, led us to doubt everything we see or hear, and If someone doesn't like a fact or a video, they can claim it's AI fabrication, as denying hard evidence becomes easier with the "it could be AI" defense. AI-driven content generation has led to situations where even experts struggle to specify real from fake. This has profound implications; when people can no longer trust images or texts, as it destroys the foundation of objective truth . Social media's structure, which favors engagement over accuracy, coupled with AI's ability to fabricate realities, has created a world where "truth" is increasingly subjective, tailored to individual belief systems rather than grounded in reality. The Government, today (Wednesday, 15 May 2024), unanimously approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal to reject the UN General Assembly decision of 10 May 2024. Prime Minister Netanyahu [translated from Hebrew]: "Today, the Government opposed last week's UN decision to advance recognition of a Palestinian state. We will not reward the terrible massacre of October 7, which 80% of Palestinians, both in Judea and Samaria, and Gaza, support. We will not allow them to establish a terrorist state from which they will be able to vigorously attack us. Nobody will prevent us, will prevent Israel, from realizing our basic right to self-defense – neither the UN General Assembly nor any other body. We will stand together with our head held high in order to defend our country." In the framework of the rejection, the Government has determined: 1. To reject the UN General Assembly decision of 10 May 2024 to upgrade the status of the Palestinian Authority and give it additional privileges, which are usually reserved for UN member states. 2. To determine that nothing in the aforesaid decision will change the status of the territories in question; nothing in it will grant any right, or detract from any rights of the State of Israel and Jewish People in the Land of Israel. 3. To determine that the aforesaid decision will not constitute a basis for future negotiations, and does not advance a peaceful solution.

🇮🇱IDF spokesman to foreign media: "We will ensure the safe return of the Israelis to their homes in northern Israel, this is not subject to negotiation". The full translation is attached: The terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon is escalating its attacks against Israel. Since deciding to join the war that Hamas started on October 7, Hezbollah has fired over 5,000 rockets, anti-tank missiles and armed UAVs from Lebanon at Israeli families, homes and communities. Hezbollah's increasing aggression brings us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation - one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the region. Hezbollah endangers the future of Lebanon, so that it can be a shield for Hamas. A shield for the Hamas terrorists who murdered the elderly, raped women, burned children and kidnapped Jews, Muslims and Christians, during their October 7 massacre. When we say we will not let October 7th happen again on any of our borders - we mean it. Because of Hezbollah's refusal to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, because of Hezbollah's military infrastructure, the shooting and fire at Israel from the area south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, and because of Lebanon's failure to enforce 1701 on Hezbollah - Israel will take all necessary measures to protect its citizens, until security is restored at the Lebanese border. In one way or another - we will ensure the safe return of the Israelis to their homes in northern Israel. It is not negotiable. Iran's terrorist affiliates continue to drag the region into destruction. Israel will continue to fight against Iran's axis of evil on all fronts, in Gaza and Lebanon, while we work towards a safer future for the Middle East. October 7th cannot happen again - in any of Israel's borders. Israel has the duty to protect its citizens. We will fulfill this duty - at any cost.

E Silbert : Emunah (Faith) and Bitachon (Trust, "security". ) Emunah is an intellectual concept in the fundamentals of the Torah – whereas Bitachon consists of practical conduct. Emunah is like a medic treats an illness. He examines the illness and gives a prescription. Emunah is the prescription (information) whereas Bitachon is taking the medicine (conduct). The medic can discover the illness and write the prescription for the remedy. However, only the person who has the illness can take the actual steps to get healed – by (1) buying the medicine and (2) actually taking the medicine at the right time. In this practical sense, the actual taking of the remedy is a greater foundational stage than the mere awareness and intellectual grasp of the illness with its remedies. Emunah (faith) means to have a strong belief in the fundamentals of the Torah – such as the belief in the existence of Hashem – who is good and the provider of all, in prophecy and in reward and punishment. Bitachon (trust) is expressed when a person is faced with a situation which necessitates relying on Hashem and he indeed relies on Hashem. #Rabbi #mystic #bitachon #faith #trust #judaism

This is the answer: Making a deal today would be equivalent to: 1. Missing a penalty kick in soccer when there's no goalkeeper. 2. Offering a draw in chess when you have a clear checkmate in the next move. 3. Forgetting to tag a runner out at home plate in baseball, when you have the ball in hand. 4. Dropping the ball on the one-yard line in American football, just before scoring a touchdown. 5. Shooting a free throw and intentionally missing when the game is tied in basketball. 6. Not capitalizing on a power play in hockey by simply passing the puck around without shooting. 7. Failing to cross the finish line in a marathon by stopping just short of it to celebrate. 8. This isn't a post about how the BBC can't even report on a deadly rocket attack, that kills 10 Israeli Arab citizens, from an Islamic terrorist organization in Lebanon without turning it into a way to make Israel look bad. (Although that would be a legitimate post in itself. ) This is a post about the shallow thinking on both sides of the political spectrum. The Right (see Trump's comments), naively believes that if only Israel were to attack with greater force and violence then a resolution would be found, although it's not clear what more force Israel can use and still stay within the bounds of International Law. The Left (see VP Harris' comments), naively believes that if only a ceasefire (or if Israel were to leave the Golan, or the West Bank) were in place then peace would break out; that Hamas wouldn't return to power; that the West Bank wouldn't become a replay of what happened when Israel left Gaza in 2005. Israel and the Israel Defense Forces are doing all they can to bring home the hostages and to fight terrorists without civilians collateral damage. Ask any soldier returning from Gaza what actually goes on (instead of listening to the ignorant, stupid voices of the 'it's genocide' protestors), and you'll have your eyes opened dramatically. The loudest voices today are the many Western political leaders calling for a ceasefire now without thinking about what that means in practice. What would happen the day after the ceasefire? Abandoning the hostages? Allowing a terrorist organizations to retain power? These calls are simply pandering to an angry and vocal segment of the electorate. They are not serious forms of foreign policy. It's also important to point out that the calls for a ceasefire always put the need for the return of the hostages in second place, as an afterthought. Just as the calls for a ceasefire are shallow and simplistic; the calls for freeing the hostages are shallow and hollow. No European government has given any serious thought as to how best to free to hostages. 'Ceasefire now and think afterwards' is not a viable plan. Israeli lives should not be sacrificed in this way. Israel has a responsibility to free the hostages and remove Hamas from its borders. A political solution will be needed. And noone is putting a viable one in place. There may not be a good one, but the political leaders on the left calling for a mindless ceasefire are doing damage not just to Israeli citizens, but also to the reputation of left-wing politics. Foreign policy needs more substance than today's politicians are showing. How will history record their shallowness?
